Center for Motion Picture Study

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization responsible for the Oscar ceremony every year, maintains a research facility that is probably the most important resource for anyone serious about the study of film - the Center for Motion Picture Study.

Having opened in 1991 on the site of City of Beverly Hills' historic Waterworks building in La Cienega Park, the Center's Margaret Herrick Library is one of the most complete collections of motion picture-related materials ever assembled. Practically any book, script, photo, or article you could want about any movie is there. And the material in the Library is available, free of charge, for reference use within the library only on a non-circulating basis.

The Center for Motion Picture Study is located at 333 South La Cienega Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California 90211. Telephone reference and additional library information may be obtained by calling (310) 247-3020 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For more information, visit the official website of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Oscars.org. There you can learn more about The Center for Motion Picture Study - the home of the Academy's Margaret Herrick Library and the Academy Film Archive.
